The beautiful African and Asante culture was at its highest as the Asante Kingdom mourned the loss of their queen the Asantehemaa. Several prominent people graced the colorful event to pay homage to the Asante overlord and support him. At the event were several politicians from the two main parties of the country most notable were the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and his vice Bawumia. The Asantehene was in his war gown to signify the velocity of sorrow and anger. The crowd couldn’t help but cheer in their amusement to see the king do the war dance. This is the final rites and send off for the Asantehemaa. The city of Kumasi stood still as several businesses and schools shut down. This was even after they were granted permission to operate.
