EBONY’S SONG NOW NUMBER ONE ON ITUNES BEATING DRAKE AND DAVIDO
Ghanaian songstress Ebony sadly passed away just a few days ago. She was involved in an accident on the Sunyani road which took two other lives. The star’s death has rocked Ghana and the world at large hard causing a media frenzy. News about Ebony is everywhere. Some are controversies, tributes, blame game, criticism and condemnation. This has risen the star’s popularity to uncharted heights and has resulted in putting her hit song Maame Hwe on the ITunes number one spot. The Ghanaian information technology, media and social media markets have been under rated and under exploited for far too long. Similar incidents like the death of Major Mahama in the past has had Ghanaians dominated social media. The fact is more and more Ghanaians are being users of technology than benefitting from it. This reasons has prompted the emergence of few visionaries like Nana Appiah Mensah who would like to help balance the tide. Hopefully, his vision will not be destroyed by Ghanaian bad attitude and negativity as we have seen the likes of Agambire’s Hope City project not seeing light.
A section of Ghanaians are also disappointed in the fact that her song though massive only made it to the number one spot through her demise. Ghanaians are hooked up on trolling and negativity on social media. Examples are Major Mahama’s case and Pastor Otabil’s trolling. These people argue that people should be honoured while alive. Ebony was constantly criticised by a lot of people when she was alive.
